What is a DOULA, you ask? The word "doula" refers to a woman who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother and family before, during, and just after childbirth. She can also assist in establishing breastfeeding of your newborn. A doula does NOT perform clinical tasks, or make decisions for you, or speak to medical staff for you.
